We are currently working on redecorating our home. The Spring cleaning buzz has me wanting to re-arrange organize and buy some new items. For me one of the biggest challeneges is picking colors that I will want to see everyday. I am a commitment phobe when it comes to decorating.
Last week when we were shopping for furniture at RC Willey we read about a In Store Decorating Seminar about Color. I knew I wanted to attend this one. Spending money to decorate your home is a investment in your happiness, I wanted to make sure I was making good decisions. I enjoy looking at the room set ups on display on the showroom floor, its always great for ideas. We learned about color theory and many aspects of interior decorating. It was presented in a simple and understandable way. They did a great job.
When we arrived 10 minutes early to the Decorating Seminar we were surprised to see the huge line of people and an already filled room. Even the store employees were surprised by the turn out. They had to get more seating, more flyers and get out a microphone system. The event started much later than they had planned. My son was doing a great job trying to behave. He colored, had cookies and rolled around on the floor. Thankfully our seating was a nice plush couch! There were many families there with their kids. The man next to us had his little girl who was playing a hand held video game that my son was trying to get a peek at. Towards the end of the 1 hour seminar my son began to grab things and tried to drink out of a candle lol. But he did great and nothing was broken in the store.? RC Willey was nice enough to hand out $25 gift cards for everyone who attended and a giveaway of 5 $50 giftcards, I am sure thats why the crowd was so big.
My favorite thing we learned was about the 60-30-10 rule of decorating. They explained how its like a mans suit where there is 60% one color, the pants and dress coat, 30%? an accent color, the dress shirt, and 10% the accessories color, the tie. In relation to room decorating its the wall paint, the furniture color and the room accessories like lamps, vases, pillows. We had a fun time, learned some new stuff, found some color inspiration and will be going back later in the week to shop with our gift cards.
Seven-time Florida lottery winner, Richard Lustig offers tips to winning the $500 million dollar jackpot.
By msnbc.com staff
The Mega Millions lottery hit $540 million on Thursday, and people endured long lines for a chance at winning the hefty jackpot ? an amount that could rise as more tickets are sold for Friday?s drawing.
?I have never seen so many people inside one store,? Jessie Rae Vaglivielo, a clerk at Hallelujah Junction, a one-stop gas and convenience store?in Honey Lake, Calif., near the Nevada border, told msnbc.com on Thursday. It was her fifth day on the job and she didn?t have time to talk -- she was selling tickets to dozens of people who had lined up.
Vaglivielo laughed when asked if she was going to buy a ticket. "No, I don't play," she said, adding "but there are a lot of people here who do, and I gotta go."
At a 7-Eleven in the Bronx, Leisa Aspes said she sold at least $1,000 in tickets during the morning rush hour on Thursday. She described conversations at the store as lively, bursting with dreams of winning. ?
?That?s all people have been talking about all morning,? she told msnbc.com. ?People are talking about what they would do if they won. I made sure to buy my tickets.?
Nobody matched all six numbers in Tuesday's regular draw, and the total jackpot has been growing since. With a $540 million total, the lump sum payment is estimated at $389.8 million, according to lottery officials. Winners can also take payments annually for 26 years.
Mega Millions raises tough question for job seekers
Mega Millions is is played in 42 states, plus Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Players pay $1 for a ticket and must pick five numbers from 1 to 56 plus a Mega number from 1 to 46 to win the jackpot. The odds of winning are 1 in about 176 million, according to the official Mega Millions website.
The largest Mega Millions jackpot ever won was $390 million in March 2007, when the prize was split between two tickets sold in Georgia and New Jersey.

The world is ever changing. But still in the last few years or precisely the first decade of the 21st century has exposed an entirely lightning fast changes in the field of mobile phones. Telecommunication has always been either the source of revolution or the revolution itself. When the telephone was introduced to the world, the world started shrinking from that point onwards. The mode of easy communication was now available for people to keep in touch with each other. Soon the telephones became one of the primary needs of every house. Then the time came of mobile phones. ?Wireless telephones? was the word that first described the mobile phones. The communication became speedier and the range of communication increased as the people were facilitated to contact any person from anywhere. By the end of 20th century, every second person possessed a mobile phone.
From high range mobile phones to Cheap Mobile Phone were available.
Then in the first decade of 21st century the world was introduced to the unknown face of mobile technology in the form of an iPhone that was released by Apple. This accelerated two things in the market; firstly the old companies were forced out of their comfort zone and give something new and different to the world in the form of a smart phone and secondly some of the new companies jumped in the market to try their luck in the field of smart phones. This again increased the competition and the result was in the favor of consumers as they got the improved quality of mobile phones. There is no doubt that smart phones can really change your world completely but they do not come under the category of Cheap Mobile Phones.
The prices of majority of the smart phones are still sky high. A consumer searching for a Cheap Mobile Phone will be disappointed if he will look at the prices of the smart phones.
Still some companies have introduced many schemes and offers as well as payment options which can make the prices of phones affordable for the consumer. Even consumer can look for some Cheap Mobile Phones which are appropriate for his usage and requirement

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Vice President Joe Biden says he's confident the Supreme Court will uphold the constitutionality of the health care law.
Biden says in an interview taped for CBS's "Face the Nation" that "we think the mandate and the law are constitutional and we think the court will rule that way."
Asked about the chances it would be overturned, he replies, "I don't believe it will happen." Biden says "I think we should focus on what is the law doing for people now and what would happen if Republicans should repeal it."
Biden has started taking on a greater role in arguing President Barack Obama's case for re-election, making an appearance on his behalf in the Midwest earlier this week. Excerpts of his Sunday interview were aired Friday on "CBS This Morning."

This wood and steel house by Melbourne studio Architects EAT has a huge projecting roof that shelters a first floor barbeque deck.
Named Linear House,?the seaside residence provides a family holiday home on the south-west coast of Australia.
A circular skylight punches through the roof of the terrace to create an outlet for smoke from the grill.
A concrete wall splits the building into two long narrow halves. The architects planned both of these sides?using the visual metaphor of ?beads on a string?, which dictates that rooms are arranged in a linear series.
Ground floor bedrooms and a first floor dining room are positioned on the north side of the house, where they have a view towards neighbouring tennis courts.
A first floor living room is located to the south, adjacent to the outdoor deck.
Architects EAT also designed another steel and wood house that we featured a few years ago ? see it here.
Photography is by?James Coombe.
Here?s some more information from the architects:
Linear House
Linear House is situated on a slight hill, 500m away from the Portsea back beach. The site is a relatively large and newly subdivided lot of 2600m2, and the client wanted a holiday house that will eventually become their permanent family home.
The siting of the house is simple; we placed the house at the highest point of the site, so that its complete elevations can be observed when one approaches the site. This also allows us to orientate the house lengthwise towards the north for passive solar benefit.
We call the underlying principle of our design: ?beads on a string? (it is a term borrowed from our 2nd year architectural course where we were required to design a linear house). Revisiting this principle produces an architecture of a pathway where journey is spatially defined by a series of unfolding spaces.
It also deals with spatial narrative as a combination of the memory of the place where one has just passed through in comparison to the expectation of what might be next. This singular pathway has coincidentally become our solution to avoid having pool fences around the lap pool, by providing a child safe sliding door that encloses the dining room.
To further accentuate the linearity, the exterior of the house is encased in horizontal spotted gum cladding, expressed steel beams, as well as sliding timber slats screens. Therefore the house is conceived as a linear timber pavilion with a double-storey concrete masonry spine wall running in parallel to the depth of the site.
The plan is straightforward ? bedrooms and dining room along the north look out to the tennis court and down the slope towards Portsea Foreshore. Service areas are on the ground floor to the south, as well as the living room on the first floor, designed to be a winter talking pit or theatherette.
The journey ends with a large entertainment deck on the first floor where friends and family can enjoy a barbeque together in the afternoon, watching the sunset in summer, while kids swim in the pool above the garage.
The project was achieved with a modest budget. All the rooms are relatively small, and instead of open plan, the living room, dining and kitchen are separated to create intimacy in a large house.
The project considers sustainability at a strategic level: space zoning, cross ventilation, solar orientation and thermal mass, as well as utilising rain water storage, solar electricity, insulation and double glazing to further enhance the sustainable outcome of the house.

The small business economy is suffering considerable harm from new regulations being enforced by the IRS this year. There?s a new tax form that?s causing this trouble for small business owners who collect ePayments and conduct eCommerce. The IRS Form 1099-K requires merchant processors and third-party payment processors, such as PayPal and Square, to report the income that individuals and small businesses were paid through their services to the IRS in 2011. ?The IRS estimates that 53 million of these forms should have been sent for tax year 2011, making it the 10th highest volume tax form in it?s first year of existence. That?s a lot of small businesses being hit by the implementation of Internal Revenue Code Section 6050W.
CONIFER, Colo. (AP) ? Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper on Wednesday suspended the use of state prescribed burns like the one that may have caused a deadly wildfire that destroyed dozens of homes near Denver.
The Colorado State Forest Service said the 6-square-mile fire started from a controlled burn last week that was meant to reduce vegetation. Instead, high wind gusts Monday blew embers across a containment line and into unburned forest, sparking the blaze.
"This is heartbreaking, and we are sorry," Deputy State Forester Joe Duda said in a written statement.
Glenn Davis, who said his friends were forced from their homes by the fire, peppered Duda with questions at a news conference and said he wants changes in how prescribed burns are conducted.
"People up here want accountability," Davis said. "Telling me, 'I'm sorry,' doesn't really make a difference."
Hickenlooper said the ban on prescribed fires on state lands, including state parks, would be in effect until a review of the wildfire is complete.
The ban doesn't affect land controlled by the federal government ? which accounts for more than one-third of Colorado. However, Hickenlooper urged counties and federal agencies to also consider suspending such burns for now.
Meanwhile, some 400 firefighters from several states were focusing on building containment lines around the wildfire. Until Wednesday, the fire's erratic pattern forced firefighters to focus on protecting homes, not stopping the burn. The fire was 15 percent contained Wednesday afternoon, Jefferson County sheriff's spokeswoman Jacki Kelley said.
Air tankers dropped retardant and two National Guard helicopters dropped water to assist firefighters on the ground. Smoke from the fire created haze around Denver, obscuring views of the Rocky Mountains.
As crews dug lines around the fire's perimeter, a search team was using dogs to look for a woman missing in the fire zone. Her home was among 27 destroyed or damaged in the blaze.
The bodies of Sam Lamar Lucas, 77, and Linda M. Lucas, 76, were found earlier this week at their destroyed home. Their cause of death was pending.
Neighbor Eddie Schneider said he's not sure the couple ever received an automated phone call telling them to leave. Schneider left his home after a firefighter knocked on his door.
Hickenlooper said he doesn't blame some of the 900 evacuated homeowners in the mountains southwest of Denver for being angry.
"Their houses have been destroyed. Their lives have been changed forever. It's not their fault," he told KOA radio.
Later Wednesday, some local sheriff's deputies started taking owners of destroyed homes into the burn area to see what was left. On a tour for reporters, thin white smoke rose from valleys. Charred appliances were all that remained of some homes.
The Intermountain Rural Electric Association said 267 structures are without power, and about two to three miles of electric lines will have to be rebuilt.
A Forest Service manager who helps plan for prescribed burns, Jane Lopez, said the state usually performs them only in spring and fall. Prescribed burns are planned as far as three years in advance, she said, but they don't go forward unless weather conditions meet requirements. She said everything was done properly.
"You don't burn unless all the parameters are met," Lopez said. She didn't comment on the governor's planned burn order but said, "We're at the end of the prescribed burn season anyway."
Conifer resident Don Heiden, who was displaced by the fire, said he wasn't ready to blame the government.
"Accidents happen. If there was negligence, they'll figure it out," said Heiden, who was watching televised aerial shots to see if his home was still standing. "To me, it's more of an act of God."
For years, fire agencies have used controlled burns to pre-empt devastating wildfires by consuming fuel. Officials credited such an operation with helping save hundreds of homes during a 2002 Colorado wildfire that did destroy 133 homes.
A few controlled burns have escaped firefighters' control.
One of the worst cases was in New Mexico in 2000. A prescribed burn set by the National Park Service in Bandelier National Monument, west of Los Alamos, blew out of control, and all of Los Alamos was evacuated. More than 400 families lost their homes and more than 115 Los Alamos National Laboratory buildings were destroyed or damaged. The federal government paid $455 million in compensation.
The Park Service resumed prescribed burns a year later with new rules, including having outside experts check burn plans.
The fire threat in much of Colorado has grown during an unusually dry and warm March. Several counties, including Jefferson, have implemented fire restrictions affecting campfires, fireworks and smoking in fire-prone areas.

Eating food is easy, writing about it, not at all easy. Keeping it fresh and interesting, accurate and useful is a constant challenge, but it's so very rewarding.
Stories about food bring back memories for people. They summon up romance and feelings of comfort. They can make the mouth water or the lips pucker. Recipes let even the beginner cook branch out into new worlds. They must be accurate and easy, or, for the more advanced cook, challenging enough to let them learn a few things too.

When Reebok introduced a green New York Jets T-shirt with the number 15 and star National Football League quarterback Tim Tebow's name on it last week, Nike Inc says its rival was misappropriating Nike's rights.
In a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in New York, Nike accused Reebok of taking unfair advantage of "Tebow-Mania" -- the phenomenon surrounding the quarterback who moved to the Jets from the Denver Broncos. Tebow has drawn attention across the United States not just as a sportsman, but for his open displays of his evangelical faith on the field.
Reebok, a unit of Adidas AG, "has no authorization from Mr. Tebow or anyone else to use Mr. Tebow's name or other identification on such Jets product," said the lawsuit, dated March 27 and made public on Wednesday.
Nike said it is authorized and licensed to use Tebow's name on football-related products.
A spokeswoman for Adidas declined to comment on the lawsuit.
Nike seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages from Reebok, but makes it clear it wants the profits from sales of the Tebow apparel.
"Reebok has taken upon itself to illegitimately seize on this unique and short-lived consumer opportunity," Nike's lawsuit said. The Adidas unit was producing and selling Tebow identified Jets apparel products "in order to capitalize on the public's short-lived intense consumer appetite for such products, and to prevent Nike from doing so."
It said there are only two ways to acquire the right to use an NFL player's name and number on merchandise -- by obtaining the right directly from the player or by entering a so-called "group license" with NFL Players Inc, the licensing arm of the NFL Players Association, the players' union.
Nike said that it has a license with both player and union and that Reebok never had an agreement with Tebow individually, "nor did it obtain his permission to or consent to the manufacture of Tebow Jets product."
Reebok had a license with the players' union, but it expired before March 1. Tebow was not a player with the Jets until March 21.
A representative of Tebow wrote to Reebok on March 23 and demanded that it discontinue using his name and remove the products from all locations, the lawsuit said.
The case is Nike Inc v Reebok International, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York No. 12-2275.

VIENNA (Reuters) - Pre-emptive military strikes aimed at forcing Iran to abandon its nuclear activities may end up having the opposite effect: convincing the Islamic Republic's leaders they need an atomic arsenal to secure their hold on power.
That is the argument from those in the West and elsewhere who say the negative impact of an Israeli or U.S. attack would eventually outweigh any gains - pushing Iran towards a decision that Western intelligence services believe it has not yet taken.
"It is difficult to see a single action more likely to drive Iran into taking the final decision to acquire nuclear weapons than an attack on the country," the foreign ministers of Sweden and Finland said in an opinion piece in the New York Times.
"And once such a decision was made, it would only be a matter of time before a nuclear-armed Iran became a reality," Carl Bildt and Erkki Tuomioja added.
Israel says Iran's nuclear ambitions are a threat to the Jewish state's very existence and that time is running short to stop Tehran taking the irreversible step of acquiring the bomb.
But an attack may delay Iran's nuclear drive only by a few years and would probably lead to an acceleration of the atomic program, the expulsion of U.N. inspectors and the Iranian people rallying around their leaders, the International Crisis Group think-tank said in a report citing unnamed U.S. officials.
"Once U.N. inspectors are expelled, Iran could reconstitute its nuclear infrastructure, this time unambiguously geared to producing a bomb," ICG analyst Ali Vaez told Reuters.
A similar message came from former CIA director Michael Hayden, who said the George W. Bush administration had concluded that a strike on the Islamic Republic's nuclear sites was a bad idea, according to a Foreign Policy magazine blog.
An attack would guarantee the very thing that the West was trying to prevent - "an Iran that will spare nothing to build a nuclear weapon and that would build it in secret", Hayden was quoted as telling reporters and experts in January.
Iran is relatively weak in conventional weaponry, compared to Israel and other Middle Eastern states, and may feel it has little choice but to develop nuclear bombs if "pushed into a corner", said military researcher Pieter Wezeman.
"If Israel or the U.S. would try to attack Iran and its strategic centers and its industry, Iran basically does not have the conventional means to defend itself," Wezeman, of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, told Reuters.
"Based on that weakness they are likely to find nuclear arms an interesting option. They don't want to be seen as losers, not internationally and not within Iran."
Any such feeling of military vulnerability in Iran - which often accuses adversaries of plotting to overturn its Islamic Revolution - would be compounded by Israel's assumed nuclear arsenal and the still strong presence of U.S. armed forces in the volatile Gulf region.
TALKS MAY OFFER "BREATHING SPACE"
There is general agreement among Western powers that Iran has already taken steps that would give it the option of becoming a nuclear-armed power, if it so decided.
It has ramped up its uranium enrichment, the U.N. nuclear watchdog said last month, voicing "serious concerns regarding possible military dimensions" to the nuclear activities.
Western experts say Iran now has enough refined uranium -material which can yield energy or weapons, depending on the level of enrichment - for four bombs if processed much further.
Crucially, however, the U.S. administration has concluded that Iranian leaders have not decided whether to actively construct a nuclear weapon, current and former officials have told Reuters.
"The U.S. intel community says with high confidence that Iran has made a capability decision, not a bomb decision," said Jim Walsh, a research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). "Bombing them will produce a bomb decision, and that will be very difficult to stop."
Iran expert Trita Parsi said: "You can't convince a country that it doesn't need a nuclear deterrence by bombing it."
But Bruno Tertrais of the Strategic Research Foundation, a French think-tank, said nobody could claim to know the impact of an attack and he suggested it could be difficult for Iran to launch a nuclear weapons bid afterwards.
"Iran would be closely monitored and would then take the risk to be bombed again, before it actually produces deliverable weapons," Tertrais said.
"One needs to differentiate between an Israeli and a U.S. operation: the latter would be bigger, leave few stones unturned, and might very well shake up the foundations of the regime."
Israel has threatened Tehran with pre-emptive strikes if diplomacy fails to stop its nuclear progress. U.S. President Barack Obama says all options are on the table, including possible military action, in dealing with Tehran.
Israel worries that Iran will soon have moved enough of its nuclear program underground as to make it virtually impervious to a unilateral Israeli attack, creating what Defence Minister Ehud Barak has referred to as a "zone of immunity".
But Obama - who has accused U.S. Republican presidential candidates of "beating the drums of war" while failing to consider the consequences - is also encouraging Israel to give sanctions against Iran more time to have an effect.
The Jewish state this week played down the prospect of an imminent attack, saying Iran's nuclear program could still be set back by sanctions and sabotage.
Six world powers and Iran are in mid-April expected to resume long-stalled negotiations aimed at finding a diplomatic resolution to the nuclear dispute, a dialogue which may for now cool speculation of imminent war [ID:nL6E8ES1DU]
"I'm not optimistic on the talks, but I do think they could at the very least open a temporary breathing space for all sides," said Gala Riani of risk consultancy Control Risks.
NUCLEAR DETERRENCE
If Israel in the end decides to strike, Vaez of the International Crisis Group said "it was easy to imagine" that Iran would withdraw from the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), a 1970 pact to prevent the spread of atomic weapons.
Iran's envoy to the U.N. nuclear agency, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, warned this month that any attack by a non-NPT member - Israel - on the nuclear sites of a country that is party to the treaty would inevitably lead to the pact's "collapse."
MIT's Walsh said Iran might need years to recover from an attack but it would not destroy its know-how and would "present a window of opportunity for pro-bomb advocates" in the country.
Short of a full-scale war or occupation, "most military options are oversold as to their ability to end or even significantly delay Iran's nuclear program," the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) said.
A vast country, Iran has dispersed its program across many facilities, some whose locations may remain secret.
"An ineffective bombing campaign ... would leave Iran able to quickly rebuild its program and motivate it to launch its own Manhattan Project," the Washington-based think-tank said, referring to the U.S. atomic bomb program in World War Two.
But the view in Israel is that any action that can delay nuclear militarization is beneficial, "because it might maximize opportunities for other events, such as regime change in Iran", the International Crisis Group report said.
Iran, a major oil producer that denies any nuclear weapons aims and officially condemns nuclear weaponry as a "great sin", says it needs uranium enriched to a low level to fuel a planned network of nuclear power plants.
It came under intensifying Western sanctions pressure after the U.N. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in a November report, presented a trove of intelligence pointing to activities in Iran relevant for nuclear weapons development.
Former IAEA chief Mohamed ElBaradei said he still did not see "incontrovertible evidence" that Iran was working on an atomic bomb and that the question of whether it intends to make one was a matter of opinion and debate.
He said an attack would be a "sure way for Iran to go on a crash course to build nuclear weapons with the full support of the Iranian people ... and with the most catastrophic consequences for the Middle East and the rest of the world."
ElBaradei, who ran the IAEA for 12 years to the end of 2009, was outspoken in his skepticism of Western intelligence after erroneous reports about secret weapons of mass destruction in Iraq were used by the United States to justify the 2003 invasion that overthrew Saddam Hussein.
The risks posed by Iran's nuclear program "need not be hyped," he said in an email to Reuters. "We should by now have learned some lessons from the Iraq disaster."
It's no secret that Samsung's been teasing a major interest in premium audio since CES, blending digitally powered speakers with vacuum tube pre-amplifiers. We didn't get a chance to check the systems out in Vegas, but today the company's spilling the details regarding US pricing on a trio of systems, all of which will be available in the Spring. The star of the show is the $800 DA-E750 Audio Dock, featuring the rear-mounted dual dock for Galaxy (charging only) and iOS devices we first saw last month. Clad in a polished wood case (available in black or cherry), the 2.1 stereo system pumps out up to 100 watts of power through its glass fiber speakers and tweeters. As an added touch, its JJ Electronics 12AU7 tubes (the same you could use for guitar amps) are sunken in from its top under glass, allowing for clear view of their glow. Best of all, aside from the requisite USB and 3.5mm inputs, the DA-870 works wirelessly with Samsung's AllShare Play, AirPlay and Bluetooth 3.0 w/ aptX.
Moving past the HiFi category, Samsung's also priced a duo of surround sound systems aimed at the home theater market. To start, there's the $1,000 HT-E6730W Blu-ray 3D 7.1 home theater system and its $800 5.1 sibling, the HT-E6500W Blu-ray 3D -- both of which feature the same tube pre-amp and similar wireless capabilities as the DA-E750. Notably, the E6730W features a tiltable top speaker on each of its stereo towers, allowing for a more personalized output depending on your room. Furthermore, if you happen to have a DA-E750, too, you'll be able to stream the audio via Bluetooth if you find yourself far away from your television. There's no exact date on when you'll be able snag any of them, but Samsung notes that the 5.1 system is currently shipping.
Update: You'll find a press release with all the drool-inducing details after the break.

Getting the help you need is often a lot easier than it seems. Sometimes it just involves picking up the right book at the right time. There is a plethora of literature on self help which makes it a bit complex. This article will give you some guidelines and tips when it comes to self help.
A great way to help one's mood is to live in the here and now. The idea is similar to the idea in Eckhart Tolle's "The Power of Now." If you live in the present moment, you cannot ever possibly be in pain, because to know pain there has to be a past.
One important factor to help with your personal development is to practice what you preach. All of your beliefs and morals should accurately reflect the way you interact with the rest of the world as well as yourself. Make sure you are not lying to yourself about any beliefs you have.
Learn from the mistakes of others. It might feel like you have the potential to screw up in every conceivable way. Fortunately, this is not true. You won't live long enough to make every mistake known to man. This is why it is so important to look at the mistakes made by those around you and to learn from them.
Find out what you want to do with your life. If that seems too far fetched for you, try figuring out what you want to do within the next 5 years. Make goals for yourself and set out to achieve them. Live your life to meet the goals you have set for yourself.
The way a person carries himself or herself tells a story. By practicing good posture, you will automatically fell more confident in yourself. Stand up straight, keep your head up and make eye contact. You will instantly feel more alert and empowered and will make a positive impression on others.
Practice forgiveness. No one is perfect, and it is easy sometimes instead of looking at our own faults to point out others and hold grudges. Many things can happen to us that are hard to forgive, but forgiveness was given to us free, and we should definitely freely give it to others.
Strive to make the best decisions in all aspects of your life and you will make your own good fortune. In most instances, people position themselves to make good outcomes possible.
Personal development is a process of setting goals and working hard to achieve them. Some goals are their own rewards. Other goals could use a more tangible reward, though. Rewards for success should be set in advance so they can be used for motivation. Treating yourself to a reward for a goal achieved also reinforces the success of the personal development process and encourages you to stick with it.
Personal development also means being thankful for what you do have. Be gracious for the wonderful things in your life, and use this knowledge to propel yourself to your goals. The support systems you already have in place offer several venues to continue to work on your self-confidence.
Keep your mind set on positive things. Remember your achievements and find something that makes you happy. Even if you are not living the life you dreamed of, you need to work on little things that bring you happiness. Work on remembering certain memories or plan fun activities for your weekends to help you get through the week.
Exercise is often used as a way to get help. This isn't for the purpose of feeling better about yourself or even to lose weight. However, going to the gym or running, can let off a lot of stress and frustration, which could otherwise build up and turn you into a very bitter person.
Personal development is often most successful when you have a clear goal in mind. Simply striving for "improvement" will take you far, but will make it much harder for you to reach your ultimate goals. Specific goals that you can clearly visualize will allow you to remain focused on why you're striving for improvement.
A great tip for personal development is to avoid overreacting to situations. You can reduce stress by not overreacting. The best thing to do is to slow down and take a few deep breaths before you respond to a situation. Yes, "respond" rather than "react".
These tips lay a foundation for achieving your self-help goals, but they are not magic. Your job is to put each of these tips to the test and see if it works for you. Modify them as needed. Once you do, you will have created a customized recipe to meet your self-help goals.
