Chick-fil-A And The Democrats' Jihad Against Christians

A couple of days ago I posted on Star Parker's piece at The Orange County Register in which she succinctly nailed the Chick-fil-A protest for exactly what it is, and what it is not, about:

The vile attacks on the firm and its owners, the Cathy family, should make clear, finally, that the "gay rights" movement is not about refining and advancing American freedom, but about rewriting American values and advancing, not freedom, but the homosexual political agenda.

And anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling themselves. As Parker aptly asks later in her piece ... have we really gotten to the point where being a Christian is considered un-American?

Yesterday, Richard Viguerie had a piece at Newsmax that goes a bit further, pointing out the degree of which today's liberal-progressive Democrat Party is behind the "gay rights" agenda, ... saying that the goal of Democrats overall war on Christianity and their role in the controversy over Dan Cathy's remarks and Chick-fil-A's company policies is not to convince a majority of Americans that same-sex marriage is the kind, fair or tolerant position to hold -- or even that it is the constitutionally correct policy. The goal of Democrats is to threaten, bully, coerce and punish millions of Americans into abandoning their Christian beliefs in favor of a soulless secularism with government at its center.

The relentless war by the left on Christians and biblical values has reached a new and more frightening phase with announcements by Democrat mayors and city officials across the country that they are "banning"???'â???š??????? fast food restaurant Chick-fil-A from their cities because company president Dan Cathy said unapologetically that he is in "support of the traditional family."

Make no mistake about it; this is much bigger than Dan Cathy and Chick-fil-A.

Far from being champions of the constitutionally protected freedoms of speech and religion, and the "tolerance" prized by liberals, the Democratic Party has now, once and for all, dropped all pretense of respecting the values held by tens of millions of American Christians and has instead launched a concerted attack to undermine those values in favor of the radical homosexual agenda.

This began, not with the media-generated controversy over Dan Cathy's witness for the biblical definition of marriage, but when President Barack Obama announced that his position on same-sex marriage had "evolved" from one of opposition to one of acceptance.

The acceptance Obama announced was quickly followed by active advocacy in favor of same-sex marriage by Democratic National Committee Chairman Deborah Wasserman Shultz, who announced the Democrats would have a plank in their national platform favoring same-sex marriage.

Acceptance and advocacy have now, as they always do in the liberal mind, quickly moved to coercion and punishment for those who disagree with them.

Read the rest here. As Viguerie goes on to point out, If Democrats can punish and coerce Dan Cathy and Chick-fil-A into submission on same-sex marriage, where will the attacks on Christians and biblical values end?

The modern-day Democrat party has been openly liberal-progressive and socialistic for some time, but it appears clear that it has now embraced an election strategy of offending normal, mainstream, Americans with traditional American values, and especially Christians, as a means of ginning up support with its leftist, anti-Christian, homosexual, predominantly secular, pro-government control, often anti-American, entitlement society-embracing, base. Before Barack Obama, no American president and his party have ever before sought to so openly divide Americans against each other ... and embraced the ideology and agenda of groups so far left of the mainstream of American's beliefs and values. One can only imagine what four more years of the same will bring.

Meanwhile, remember that August 1 is Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day to show support for traditional marriage and freedom of speech. Surely, you support one or the other, or both
